Video transcript.

In Word you can change the appearance of your page such as the background colour and also the size of the margins when you print your documents.

To change the background colour, go to the Page Layout tab. Within the page layout Tab, you will see options for margins, to change the margin sizes of the document, Orientation if you want to change the orientation to landscape or portrait. But also page colour.

Office 2007 has something called Live Preview. This allows you to see what the document will look like without actually applying those changes. Let's click on Page Colour, and choose a Tan background. And as I move over the different shades of Tan, you will see the live preview shows you how the document will actually look.

A great new feature in Office to allow you to see the different formatting options without applying them. I'm going to select a light aqua background colour. So the background colour is very easy to change using the Page Layout tab and the Page colour dropdown.

Margins.

The margins at the moment are quite large. If I click on the margins dropdown, we have the ability to narrow margin. You can see the margins have now decreased in size. If you want to revert to the larger margin, click on Margins, and click on Normal.

In this demo we had a quick look at how we can change the margins in your Word document and also the background page colour.
